The Grace
Period
Thank God there
is a Grace Period. If you have been like me you have been told
that your insurance is now in the Grace period. I was thinking
there is a grace period in medicine also.
The other day I was talking to a man about a medical problem
and begin to tell me all of the reasons his lifestyle was a
mess. He has already been told that he was a pre diabetic several
weeks ago. He did not look like a man who had taken the information
he had been given seriously. Had no signs or symptoms of diabetes
and was in what I call the “Grace Period” of diabetes.
Grace periods can be long or they can be short and if you are
unlucky there is no grace period. If you have been told that
you have pre diabetes you are in an area regarding you health
that diabetes is the next stop. Risk factors for pre diabetes
are a family history, obesity, a history of inactivity, and
a history of smoking. When the grace period is over, it’s
over. Take care of yourself. I am Dr. Thaddeus John Bell closing
the gap in health care.
