It
usually alarms me when I have to tell someone they have Genital
herpes because while there is treatment, there is no cure; at
least, not yet. Genital Herpes is a very commonly sexually transmitted
disease that causes small, painful sores on the penis or the
vagina. The symptoms are usually burning, itching and difficulty
urinating. A bump on the penis or on the vagina could be herpes.
If you think you have genital herpes, it is important that you
discuss it with your physician otherwise the cause of the bump
will never be found. Genital herpes affects at least 25 percent
of adults in the United States and it is projected that millions
more will be affected every year. One final point that I feel
compelled to make you aware of is that if infection becomes
apparent in the sexual partner, it does not necessarily mean
that the infected partner has been unfaithful. One could have
been exposed to the disease years before the disease became
